A note from Dr. Kelly

If you’re reading this, you may be worried about your child, or you may be carrying more than you can manage alone. Either way, you’ve already taken a meaningful step.

In our work together, you won’t just be listened to. You’ll be understood, and you’ll leave with real tools you can use at home, at school, and in the moments that feel hardest. With children, parents are my partners, never bystanders.

My hope is that every family and person I work with feels a little less alone and a lot more capable.

What happens after you reach out

Most families start with a short phone call. There’s no commitment until you decide it feels right.

  1. You reach out

Call, or send a brief secure message. A sentence or two about who the help is for is plenty.

  2. We talk by phone

A short, free conversation about what’s going on, what you’re hoping for, and whether I’m the right fit.

  3. A first visit

In person or by video. With children, we often start with parents, then build comfort at the child’s pace.

  4. A plan, together

Clear goals, practical skills, and regular check-ins, so you can see progress, not just hope for it.

How I work

My approach draws on cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT skills for adolescents, and years of experience in schools and hospitals.

Evidence-based

Methods with strong research behind them, especially CBT and DBT, adapted to each person’s age and personality.

Collaborative

Parents are partners. When it helps, I coordinate with schools, pediatricians, and other providers so support is consistent.

Skills you keep

Sessions build real tools for hard moments: coping, problem-solving, and communicating, not just insight.

Common questions

Do you take insurance?

I’m an out-of-network provider. Many PPO plans reimburse part of the fee, and I provide monthly statements (superbills) with everything your insurer needs. Therapy is usually FSA/HSA eligible. Fees & insurance

Is telehealth an option?

Yes. I offer secure video sessions to clients in New York, Connecticut, and other PsyPACT participating states. Some families use a mix of in-person and video.

How do I know if my child needs therapy?

If worries, behavior, or mood have been getting in the way of school, sleep, friendships, or family life for more than a few weeks, it’s worth a conversation. You don’t need to wait for a crisis, and a consultation doesn’t commit you to anything.

Will my teenager’s sessions be private?

Teens need a space that feels their own. At the start, we agree together on what stays between us and what gets shared with parents, and safety always comes first. Most families find this builds trust on both sides.

What if I’m not sure you’re the right fit?

That’s exactly what the first phone call is for. If I’m not the best person to help, I’ll do my best to point you to someone who is.
