Therapy for children, teens, and parents

Therapy for children and adolescents is most effective when the whole family is part of it. Here’s how I can help.

Anxiety in children

Many children go through anxious stretches. When worries start getting in the way of sleep, school, friendships, or family routines, it’s time for support. I work with generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, social anxiety, school refusal, and specific fears.

Using CBT and skills-based strategies, I help children name their worries, build coping skills, and gradually face hard situations, with encouragement rather than pressure. Parents learn how to respond at home so progress keeps going between sessions.

Often for Children about 5–12 whose anxiety is affecting school, sleep, or friendships

ADHD, behavior & school

Attention and regulation challenges can look like homework battles, trouble following directions, low frustration tolerance, conflict with peers, or outbursts that seem bigger than the moment.

Therapy focuses on practical skills: organization, problem-solving, frustration tolerance, and flexible thinking. With your permission, I work with teachers and school teams so strategies are consistent across settings.

Often for School-age children and teens with ADHD, behavior, or emotional-regulation concerns

Therapy for teenagers

Adolescence brings real pressure: academics, social dynamics, identity, mood, and the pull between independence and still needing support.

Teens get a non-judgmental space that feels like theirs, where they can talk openly and build skills to manage stress and emotions. Parents are included in ways we agree on together, always with safety first.

Often for Ages 13–18 facing anxiety, low mood, social challenges, or academic stress

Parent consultation

Sometimes the most effective help is guidance for you. Consultation is focused and practical: understanding your child’s behavior, responding to emotional struggles, and getting through a difficult stretch as a family.

Sessions may include coaching on specific strategies, education about development, and an honest read on whether more support is needed.

Often for Parents and caregivers, with or without a child in therapy

Groups

I’ve led therapy groups for two communities close to my heart, and hope to offer them again.

Grief support for widows. A small, steady group for women navigating the loss of a spouse or partner: the grief, the practical changes, and building a life that still feels like yours.

Children on the autism spectrum. A structured, skills-focused group where children practice connection, flexible thinking, and emotion regulation with peers, in a setting built for how they learn.

Neither group is running right now. Send a message to join the interest list.

Fees and insurance

I’m an out-of-network provider. Payment is due at each session by card or check, and you’ll receive monthly statements with everything your insurer needs for out-of-network reimbursement. Therapy is usually FSA/HSA eligible.

If you’re uninsured or not using insurance, you have the right to a written Good Faith Estimate before your first appointment.
